What's Your Favorite Color, Baby?
BLUE & GOLD, of course.
So today I put on my old Thornwood sweatshirt. I haven't worn it in years. But something about it made me feel all warm and cozy - and incredibly nostalgic. Anyone who really knows me, knows that I am the Nostalgia Queen. Seriously, if I could go back to Calvary Academy and wear my brown uniform to school every day or paint my hair blue for Blue & Gold day, I would. Anyway, this old sweatshirt has made me feel such pride for my old Alma Mater. It reminded me of all the things I went through and all the people I knew, the boys I dated. I remembered the games, the pep rallies, the Marching Thunderbirds marching the halls before a big game...
Here's a clip I found on YouTube.com. Pretty interesting. I wish I had a tape of when I went to the good old TWHS. Man, those were the days. Hey Kim, did you have moves like these when you played for the Marching T-birds? Probably not!!
I know things change (and I don't much like change anyway) but why do things have to change so much...

Aaahhhhhh...the good old days!
And I just had my TW sweatshirt on the other night! :) Doesn't surprise you though, does it?!
I am so much like that! Only I hated high school so I am extremely nostalgic when it comes to grammer school. Life was so much easier back then!!!
Of course you did! We ARE the same person!!! :)
I have major nostalgic feeling for grammer school too. Life was great! I had 11 people in my 8th grade class - I basically went to school every day with my best friends. :) Nice!
yo yo yo baby
First of all...Good for you for still fitting in your Thornwood Gear! Secondly...the dutchies in the band in 1985...NEVER had those moves...and am pretty sure we still don't! Love reading your page!
You remember late 80's-early 90's fashion, don't you? Yeah well, let's just say that the sweatshirt is not a size small! Those fashion disasters worked out good for me now though. Many years later. :)
I bet in 1985 the Marching T-birds worked hard at standing still! They were definitely something to be proud of! Did you guys march the halls before the games back then? :) Man, that was the best!
Oh yes...we marched the halls...my ears would ring for hours afterwards! That probably didn't help my future "Riddering" ear problems that I am bound to have!
I bet! Let's hope it doesn't affect your ears later in life. That would be horrible!! Like you said, the odds aren't really in our favor.
wow!! thats is a MARCHING band isnt it!! love your blogs mel. Dude I cant find my locker! Hey whatever happen to that "book" we kept passing from one another??
Mary, "the book" was found by my mother thank you very much. I was married and didn't live there anymore but she found it - questions flew - then she threw it away. :)
